New Jersey Devils
The New Jersey Devils are a National Hockey League team located in Newark, New Jersey. The franchise was founded in 1974 as the Kansas City Scouts before moving to Denver, Colorado to become the Colorado Rockies in 1976. The team made its move east in 1982, moving to East Rutherford, New Jersey and became the New Jersey Devils.
The Devils played in what was most recently known as the Izod Center at the Meadowlands Sports Complex until the start of the 2007-08 season when the team moved to their new home, Prudential Center, in Newark, where they play as members of the Metropolitan Division in the Eastern Conference.
The New Jersey Devils have had moderate success overall, winning 5 conference championships, most recently in the 2011-12 season. Most of that success came from the mid-90s to the early 2000s, during which time the franchise won all 3 of its Stanley Cup championships.
