Philadelphia Flyers
The Philadelphia Flyers are a National Hockey League team located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The franchise was founded in 1967, along with in-state rival Pittsburgh Penguins, as part of the league's first expansion from the Original Six teams of the modern NHL. Beginning play at the legendary Spectrum, the team moved to its current home, the Wells Fargo Center, in 1996. The Flyers play as members of the Metropolitan Division in the Eastern Conference.
The Philadelphia Flyers are one of the most successful expansion teams in the league, reaching the conference finals 16 times, more than any other expansion team. The Flyers have two Stanely Cup championships, both coming in the mid 1970s.
