San Jose Sharks

The San Jose Sharks are a National Hockey League team located in San Jose, California and are members of the Pacific Division in the Western Conference. The Sharks were founded in 1991, playing their games at the Cow Palace in Daly, California, just outside of San Francisco.

The Sharks had one of the worst seasons in NHL history in 1992-93, scoring just 24 points and setting a NHL league record losing 71 games. San Jose set another NHL record the following season for the biggest increase in points, increasing by 58 points to 82 total for the 1993-94 season to make the playoffs.

San Jose moved to their current home, SAP Center at San Jose, at the beginning of the 1993-94 season. The Sharks would regularly make the playoffs, however, they have only one trip to the Stanley Cup finals, coming in 2015-16 when they lost to the Pittsburgh Penguins.
