Cleveland Indians
The Cleveland Indians are a Major League Baseball franchise originally established in 1894 and located in Cleveland, Ohio. One of the original eight charter franchises when the American League formed in 1901, and the Indians are currently members of the American League Central division, playing their home games at Progressive Field, originally known as Jacobs Field.
The Indians, often referred to as “The Tribe,” have won two World Series titles, in 1920 an 1948, with three additional American League pennants since then, most recently in 1997. The franchise is well known in pop culture as a fictionalized version of the team was the focal point of the movie “Major League”, released in 1989.
