Colorado Rockies
The Colorado Rockies are a Major League Baseball franchise located in downtown Denver, Colorado. The team was founded as an expansion franchise in 1993, playing their home games at Mile High Stadium for their first two seasons. In 1995, the team moved into their own home, Coors Field, which is known to be one of the most hitter friendly ballparks in the league due to the elevation of Denver being one mile above sea level.
Because of playing in such a hitter friendly environment, the Rockies often have one of the most potent offenses in the league, but also one of the most struggling pitching staffs. The Rockies play as members of the National League West division, but have yet to win a division title. The team has made the playoffs three times, each as a Wild Card team, with their 2007 trip to the post-season ending with a National League pennant before losing in the World Series.
