Los Angeles Angels

The Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim are a Major League Baseball franchise located in Anaheim, California. Founded in 1961, the team was originally called the Los Angeles Angels, in tribute to a long time minor league franchise that disbanded just a few year prior. The team began playing in Los Angeles, including at Dodger Stadium once it opened, before moving to their own home in Anaheim.

The team has gone through several name changes, including being called the California Angels and Anaheim Angels before most recently switching to the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim to draw to a the larger market of Los Angeles. The Angels are a member of the American League West division, and play their home games at Angel Stadium, in Anaheim. The Angels franchise, at the time called the California Angels, were the focus of the 1994 Disney movie Angels in the Outfield.
