Milwaukee Brewers

The Milwaukee Brewers are a Major League Baseball franchise located in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The franchise was originally established in 1969 as an expansion franchise, the Seattle Pilots in Seattle, Washington. After one season, the team was purchased by future league Commissioner, Bud Seligs, and moved to Milwaukee. The team got its name due to the large influence of the beer brewing industry in the area.

The Brewers played in Milwaukee County Stadium as a member of the American League before switching to the National League in 1998 to be part of the NL Central division. The Brewers currently play in Miller Park, which opened in 2001. The Milwaukee Brewers have made it into the playoffs three times, with one pennant in 1982 while they were in the American League.
