New York Mets
The New York Mets are a Major League Baseball franchise located in Flushing, Queens, New York, and are a member of the National League East division. The New York Mets were established in 1962 to replace the New York Giants and Brooklyn Dodgers who both moved west in 1957. For the first two seasons, the Mets played at the Polo Grounds before moving to Shea Stadium in 1964. The team called Shea Stadium home until it moved to Citi Field at the start of the 2009 season.
The early years were rough, with the Mets posting the worst record ever since baseball started the 162 game schedule by going 40-160 in 1962. The losing continued until the 1969 “Miracle Mets” who went on to win the World Series. A second World Series championship came in 1986, while the Mets have had three other National League pennants, including their most recent in 2015.
