New York Yankees

The New York Yankees are a Major League Baseball franchise located in the Bronx, New York City, New York, and are members of the American League East division. The franchise was one of the eight original American League franchises founded in 1901, at the time known as the Baltimore Orioles (no affiliation to the current team by the same name). The club moved to New York in 1903, becoming the New York Highlanders, and finally the New York Yankees in 1913.

The team played in legendary Yankee Stadium starting in 1923 until 2008, when the team moved across the street to the new Yankee Stadium. The New York Yankees are the winningest franchise in MLB history with 40 American League pennants and 27 World Series titles, the most recent of each coming in 2009.
