Seattle Mariners
The Seattle Mariners are a Major League Baseball franchise located in Seattle, Washington. Founded in 1977, the Mariners are members of the American League West division, and have been playing their home games in Safeco Field since 1999. The Mariners have had limited success, having only won three division titles, the most recent in 2001.
The 2001 team set an American League record with 116 wins during the regular season, however, they lost to the New York Yankees during the American League Championship Series. The Seattle Mariners are one of only two teams, the other being the Washington Nationals, to have never played in a World Series.
