Venue History
Busch Stadium, also known as New Busch Stadium and Busch Stadium III, is the current home of the St. Louis Cardinals of Major League Baseball. The ballpark opened in 2006 in downtown St. Louis, Missouri, after the team moved from Busch Memorial Stadium (the 2nd edition), where the team played since 1966.
As is common with the new retro-classic designed stadiums, the outfield opens to a view of the St. Louis skyline, including the St. Louis Arch. The ballpark's west entrance was designed to pay homage to the historical Eads Bridge, which was built in 1874 and crosses the Mississippi River.
