Venue History
Citizen's Bank Park is a Major League Baseball stadium located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and is the current home to the Philadelphia Phillies. The ballpark opened in 2004 after the Phillies moved from Veterans Stadium following the 2003 season. Although originally planned to be in downtown Philadelphia, the stadium was decided to be built in the South Philadelphia Sports Complex, next to the city's other major sports venues, Lincoln Financial Field and the Wells Fargo Center.
One of the most notable features of the ballpark is the Liberty Bell home run celebration, which is a 52-foot-high lighted replica of the Liberty Bell that lights up and “rings” with each Phillies home run and victory.
